I have instances wh...I sometimes feel the opposite. I have instances where I feel like I'm the only one who is letting my kids explore, and I'm not hovering over them. However I don't let them out of my sight and I certainly would never let them near a ditch that even if it didn't have water in it right then, it might later. I have been in that type of situation before too, where you tell your kid they can't do something the other Moms are letting their kids do because you don't feel its safe. I've wondered if I'm too overprotective as well.
